Pender Hosts 25th Annual Nebraska Cattlemen’s Ball June 2-3, 2023

June 2-3 will be great days to showcase the City of Pender along with many memories made! These days, the City of Pender and the Weborg Family will be hosting the 25th Annual Nebraska Cattleman’s Ball at the Weborg Feedlot, roughly six miles south of Pender along Highway 9.

The Cattlemen’s Ball has been held every year except 2020 due to COVID19. Since its debut in 1998, the ball has raised more than $17 million over these last twenty-four years to fund cancer research. Ninety Percent of those proceeds go to the Cancer Center, while the remaining Ten percent are returned to the local community for health and wellness initiatives. The ball is held each year in different communities throughout the State of Nebraska to highlight what each community has to offer. This is the first time the City of Pender has hosted this illustrious event!

The event now is SOLD OUT with all 4,500 tickets being sold. The schedule will have events both on Friday June 2nd and Saturday June 3rd. On Friday June 2nd, events include a golf tournament with registration at 8:00am and 9:00am start time at Indian Trails Country Club in Beemer, Nebraska. On Saturday June 3rd, there is a 5K run and 1 mile walk with a 6:30am registration and 7:00am start. You do not have to have a ticket for the Cattlemen’s Ball to participate in the run or walk. Also on Saturday is an extreme bull riding event. Then Saturday night along with the dinner and ball Country Music Sensation Josh Turner will be performing.

Although tickets are sold out for the event at this time, Nebraskans can still participate in the 5K run or 1 mile walk, and/or get involved with supporting cancer research through their support of the Calf for a Cure Program or through purchasing floral arrangements called Promise Petals.

More information on the event as well as how to get involved can be found at: https://www.cattlemensball.com
